Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend always seem to go by too fast! Of course we spent a good deal of time working on the house. Friday night we made it out to Riverfest to check out the Train concert. It was good - crowded, but it was nice to get out of the house. We had planned to at least go see Pat Green on Sunday, but were too tired to make it out. Instead we just hung out over at JJ's mom's house.

Frodo also had his first encounter with a box turtle this weekend. You would think that a 15lb dog could handle a little turtle. Instead he was barking at it and wasn't really sure what to think. Pictures to be posted soon. Everytime he's gone outside since he's had to go back looking for his "friend".

Our kitchen is really starting to come together. We've got the countertops, sink and back-splash all in. I think it will be my favorite room in the house (even though I'm not a cook!). Here are some pics along with a "before" look.

Busy Weekend

This weekend was a long, busy weekend. I took off work on Friday and worked on painting our office. We then went to happy hour at Cheers in Maumelle w/ Susan, Seth, Mary, Brian & the Owens. Steve, Megan, Peyton & Cameron were all in town looking for a house (they found one). Unfortunately Peyton broke his arm while walking into (ironically) the house they ended up getting.(Peyton pre-arm break)

We also had our first ABPG softball game Saturday morning, where we got creamed. Hopefully we'll do better this next weekend - I get to "coach" since Lance is out.

I'm now on Myspace.com. Be sure to check it out at www.myspace.com/elanadawn. I'm planning on taking off work tomorrow to work on our house (yes, JJ, I will actually work!). I'll try to post some pics of our new kitchen either this weekend or on Monday. We've also got our first Media League softball game this Saturday. Kind of worried about our prospects for winning but hopefully we can pull it out.

First thoughts!

This is my first entry on my new blog. I've been slow to get into the blogging thing, but figured I can give it a try. Here is a pic from our trip to St. Louis two weeks ago to see the Cubs vs. Redbirds @ the new Busch. Although the Cubs lost, it was still awesome to see the new ballpark.
JJ and I have also been working on our house, which is slooowly reaching completion, but still has a ways to go. We've been working on our new and improved kitchen by finishing installing the cabinets and putting down the countertops.
